Casino Expansion Underway, Including New Location
The Cimarron Casino expansion is moving ahead and on schedule for the multi-million dollar project which is expected to be complete in the fall of 2013.
The expansion will add 15,000 square feet to the existing casino, bringing the total to about 600 slot machines, with new table games and a new, larger café area. The Casino’s growth will have a positive impact on the local economy, employing close to 200 staff members when the expansion is complete.
The Iowa Tribe has also begun building a second casino near Chandler, Oklahoma. The new casino will be called the Ioway Casino which is located a few miles west of Chandler on historic Route 66. This casino will be smaller with about 250 slot machines and a small snack area. The Ioway Casino is set to open later this summer.
The Cimarron Casino expansion and the 2nd location near Chandler have been in the planning stages for several years. Realizing the dream and turning plans into tangible construction has increased the excitement and expectations of the Cimarron Casino employees and the Iowa Tribal members.
