Ioway Casino holds Opening Ceremony
Chandler, OK - After only 85 days of construction, the Iowa Tribe held a ribbon cutting on Saturday, June 1st. The ribbon-cutting ceremony included a prayer by Iowa Tribe member Victor Roubidoux and remarks by Iowa Tribe Business Committee members; Bobby Walkup, Vice Chairman; Leslie Tanyan, Secretary and Council Member L. Renee Lincoln. Bobby Walkup commented the staff, along with Ed Bishop at BBK/A&E and Shawn Scott with SGS the construction firm, for working so hard to get the new Ioway Casino opened on June 1st. "Everyone involved has put in a lot of long hours to make this a special place."
The new casino feautures 250 new gamging device and a snack bar. The casino is open to guests 18 years of age or older. The Ioway Casino and the Cimarron Casino are enterprises of the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma. The Ioway Casino is located 5 miles west of Chandler, on historic Route 66, 338445 E. Highway 66.
